What's Hydroboost?
OBS Solutions Hydroboost Kit replaces your stock vacuum assist brake booster with a hydroboost unit that utilizes power steering hydraulic pressure instead of engine vacuum for braking assist. This provides a tremendous increase in braking power, requires less input from the driver and a much better driving experience, especially when towing.
All kits seamlessly integrate with your stock master cylinder and power steering pump. The kit allows the use of your original stock brake pedal and firewall mounting provisions. It's literally “Bolt On”.
Those equipped with Super Duty axles boasting rear disk brakes, we recommend the application of a 2005 6.0 master cylinder for optimal performance.
Kit Options:
Kit 1: Basic Hydroboost/Fittings ONLY
This is intended for trucks with engine swaps, such as Cummins or LS conversions, or other custom applications, this comprehensive kit includes:
Custom assembled to spec OBS Solutions NEW Motorcraft Hydroboost with pushrod clevis
Mounting plate, hardware and gasket
Hydroboost fittings to -6 JIC (x2)
Steering gearbox fittings to -6 JIC (x1)
Please note: You'll need to procure your own lines and additional fittings tailored to your power steering pump and non-OE components. Utilization of a stock Ford OBS master cylinder or an upgraded Ford master cylinder is required.
Kit 2: 1994-97 OBS 7.3 Powerstroke and 1989-1997 7.3 diesel IDI and 460 Gas Truck. Building upon the components of Kit 1, Kit 2 also incorporates:
Two pressure hoses
Fittings compatible with your stock power steering pump
Power steering return hose with required clamps and brass Y fitting
Power steering pump fitting to -6 JIC (x1)
Kit 3: The ultimate 1994-1997 OBS 7.3 Powerstroke and 1989-1997 7.3 IDI and 460 Gas Truck. Enhancement package, Kit 3 integrates all elements from Kits 1 and 2, further augmented with:
A brand-new 1999-2003 7.3 Super Duty power steering pump featuring an extra return line port. This makes installation much simpler and is intended to run a hydroboost unit.

Really like the kit so far. (Kit 3) Well put together and shipped fast. Instructions I felt left me hanging on a couple minor points but nothing that using a little common sense couldn’t figure out after a minute. I do have a pretty nasty whine in my new PS pump but I think that’s because I did a stupid move and started the truck before lifting the front end and trying to work the air out that way first.
Brake pedal feels much more modern and stopping power has improved and will even more when the rear brakes get some love.

Hydroboost 7.3 Centurion
This kit makes the truck stop so much better, much firmer pedal.
The overall length off the firewall was the same going from vacuum booster to this hydroboost. The master cylinder sits a bit lower with this hydroboost vs the stock vacuum booster.
Install is very easy. I would suggest test fitting all the fittings and hoses together on a bench before install. I had to clean up some threads, but nothing major.
I installed this kit using the OBS Solution lines. They are excellent and come pre clocked, so some maneuvering may be need to get them into place by yourself.
I went with a Lee Powersteering pump (CII style with Saginaw internals) The combo is amazing.
Truck runs on 37" 22.5 10 lug dually wheels and stops just as easily as a new car.
This hydroboost kit is essential I feel, this is how the truck should've left the factory.

Definitely recommended to anyone.
Before my brakes were soft and some days I was skeptical of towing anything safely.
After install my brakes are firm and very responsive. I also bought the vacuum pump delete and electric vacuum pump kit. Install was easy and all parts were included, minus some wires and corrugated wiring cover.
I recommended using a Sawzall on cutting down the old idler stud and flap disc for smoothing it out over draining the coolant and removing the fan and clutch assembly.

Very well put together instructions. Getting the hydro boost lines is definitely a challenge because they are pretty stiff . Other than that easy install. Brakes work much better and it’s a very clean unit 10/10

These rocker guards do a shockingly good job of keeping rocks and mud etc off the rockers. Especially with stock offset wheels. The video instructions are great, and the fit on these is excellent. I've torn the fronts off on accident a few times, and I'll keep buying replacements. They just work that well.

Rocker Guides
Nice material and the design is minimal so it doesn't clutter the appearance of the truck but provides a nice subtle and functional detail. Install was simple.
Great product, although it's a little expensive for a couple brackets a d some bolts your buying yourself some time as they have figured out how to stack everything nice together nice and tight the first time. Only reason i didn't give it 5 starts is because i had to make new brackets to mount my a/c condensor as none of the replacement ones on rock auto or locally at the parts store would work with the mount.
I used these on my 91 f350 when putting a 7.3 powerstroke in with intercooler and 6.0 trans cooler and everything fit properly and made the install so much easier

What a great idea and replacement, thank you so much, I had been looking for good used ones and seen your video, and had to have these, so just FYI maybe you guys could come up with your own OBS aluminum bed caps, Dee Zee does not make them for the older ford's any more they said, the only ones I could find was threw ICI, thank you again, mirror brackets are great, Steve
